Michelle Schlenker's passion for fitness training and personal development originates from many years of competitive sports. She played both volleyball and basketball at William Penn University. She also coached volleyball at Montana State University Billings as a Graduate Assistant. Her goal is to be a role model to everyone she trains. She understands the struggles some clients face as they try to reach their health and fitness goals because she has been there...so it all makes sense. It's not easy, if it was, everyone would be in great shape. After years of going to the gym and doing the same old routine of bicep curls, leg lifts, etc. and running on the treadmill or elliptical for 30-45 minutes, she was introduced to CrossFit and loved it. The WODs are never the same and always challenging no matter what level you are at. But in this industry, it's not about how many certifications or degrees you have, it's how you make your clients feel. Her plan is to motivate you in ways you never thought were possible. Exercise is a key component to overall balance in one's life. She truly believes that taking care of your body carries over to a healthy mind. Not only do we look better, we have more ENERGY to do the things in life that matter to us.
Kevin Fox (CrossFit Level 1 Coach) is and has been a fitness enthusiast for most of his life. He has participated in a wide range of competitive sports from childhood until present. Those sports included soccer, tennis, golf, football, baseball, and sand volleyball. While in the Army, he served in Desert Storm. He also attained the Expert Field Medical Badge, and Air Assault Badge while serving, which were both physically grueling events. While he was in the Army, Kevin spent a large amount of time training soldiers that were either overweight or could not pass the Army Physical Training test. Kevin started body building at the age of 21 and began training in CrossFit in 2009. Now, at the age of 39 he is in the best shape of his life and is passionate about teaching as many people as possible the benefits of the CrossFit program. The possibility of changing someone’s life to becoming fit for the long term is a mission and passion for him. He believes whole heartedly the principles in the CrossFit program can benefit anyone that implements them. The prescribed nutrition and training in the Crossfit program are second to none and the results are a proven fact. It is his goal to prove to everyone that great fitness and health can be achieved if you just buy into it and be willing to learn. His favorite motivational quote of all time is, “PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY!”
Christine Sledge- aka-Sledge ( NETA Certified Personal Trainer), Is passionate about restoring health and fitness to the community. It is her personal goal to help others enjoy more fit lifestyles by assisting them to develop healthy habits. Currently, she spends most of her time working with clients in boot camp training to reshape their bodies as well as their behaviors which can lead to more productive and healthy lives. She has always enjoyed being generally active and has played tennis, volleyball and several other sports at high school and adult recreational levels. Sledge started with Cross Fit at the age of 38 when she decided that if she wanted to enjoy a long healthy life, her habits had to change. At that time, she was at least 45 pounds over any healthy weight range for her body size, and on the verge of type II diabetes. After spending inordinate amounts of time in traditional gyms, and seeing no real results, an acquaintance suggested Twisted A Fitness, and Cross Fit training. While the workouts proved to be more intense than anything she had done since the military, it was the best thing she’s ever done for herself. She has lost 47 pounds in the last year, completed the Tour de Cure bicycle event, from San Antonio to Austin, and is looking forward to participating in upcoming adventure races. After encouragement from Rodney and Michelle she has tested for and obtained the NETA (National Exercise Trainers Association) Certification and is working with others to assist them in obtaining their fitness goals and developing more healthy lifestyles.
